Cover your tracks

Your computer saves certain information as you surf the internet. You may not want the person you are in a relationship with to find out that you have been visiting this site. Here are some hints to help you to cover your tracks.

Although these steps will help you to cover your tracks, it may still be possible for the person you are in a relationship with to discover your internet history. We advise using a computer or device they do not have access to.

Internet Explorer

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Click the TOOLS button at the top right
  • Point to SAFETY
  • Select DELETE BROWSING HISTORY
  • In the pop-up box, choose what you want to delete
  • Click DELETE

Chrome

  • Open Chrome
  • Click the three dots at the top right
  • Click HISTORY
  • On the left, click CLEAR BROWSING DATA
  • In the pop-up box, choose what you want to delete
  • Click CLEAR DATA

Firefox

  • Open Firefox
  • Click the HISTORY button in the top right
  • Click HISTORY
  • Click CLEAR RECENT HISTORY
  • Choose what you want to delete
  • Click CLEAR NOW

Microsoft Edge

  • Open Edge
  • Click the three dots at the top right
  • Click SETTINGS
  • Click CHOOSE WHAT TO CLEAR
  • Choose what you want to delete
  • Click CLEAR

iPhone / iPad

  • Tap SETTINGS
  • Scroll down and tap SAFARI
  • Tap CLEAR HISTORY AND WEBSITE DATA

Android phone / tablet

  • Tap OPTIONS in the top right
  • Tap SETTINGS
  • Tap on PRIVACY AND SECURITY
  • Tap CLEAR HISTORY
  • Tap the OK button

Apple Safari

  • Open Safari
  • Click the HISTORY tab at the top
  • Click the CLEAR HISTORY button
  • A pop up box will appear, select ALL HISTORY
  • Click CLEAR HISTORY
